June 15, 2009 The Hon. Jason Kenney, P.C. Dear Minister Kenney, May I say how much pleased I am to read news reports about the actions you are taking to end policies of previous Governments that discriminate against the English-speaking majority of Canada. Such policies have divided Canada. They shut out countless highly qualified English-speaking Canadians from serving their country. They affect every part of our lives. I welcome the steps you are taking. REQUEST FOR ACTION: I have received a copy of a promotion card published by La Cite des affaires, offering free French Language instruction for newcomers to Canada, complete with childcare. It is openly intended to use immigration to change Canada into a French country. It states that to qualify, one must "Choose French as your first language in Canada." This uses immigrants to Canada to expand discrimination against English-speaking people who are the majority of Canadians. The card states that the program is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Please treat this as an urgent request that your Department end support totally for this racist, divisive and discriminatory program. 2 PAGE 2 Enclosed is a copy of an undated letter that other concerned Canadians
have sent you, headed "French Language instruction for Newcomers
to Canada". I agree with those questions. Could you please provide me with a copy of your reply to these question? I look forward to your ending any Government support whatsoever for this divisive program.
